Mountainside Public Library provides
Inter-Library Loan (ILL) services to resident cardholders, non-resident
cardholders who work in the borough, and paid subscribers only.
Other visitors must file their Inter Library Loan requests through their
home library.
-
Patrons may have a maximum of three (3)
ILLs in the system at one time.
-
Mountainside Library will make every
effort to obtain requested material. Most requests are filled
within 7 days. When your request is ready for pickup, we will call
you. Please note that requests for rare, esoteric or valuable
materials may be difficult to fill and may require additional time to
fill, and
some materials may not be eligible for loan. Whether an item is
released or not is at the discretion of the owning library.
-
The ILL borrowing period is generally 28
days. However, there may be exceptions and patrons are advised to
check their due dates.
-
The overdue fine for ILLs is 50 cents
per day per item.
-
ILL items may be returned in the library
book drop when the library is closed.
-
Renewals are made at the discretion of
the owning library. (Items borrowed through ILL do not belong to
the Mountainside Library so we can only request a renewal and
cannot guarantee one.)
-
Items borrowed through ILL must be
returned to the Mountainside Library with their pink and blue cards.
