Logging in to your library account.

Logging in allows you to do several things, including:

• review your list of checkouts
• renew items that are eligible for renewal
• submit address / phone number / e-mail changes
• place holds on items that are checked out to other patrons
• change your PIN

Note:  It is not necessary to log in in order to search the catalog.  You only need to log in if you want to do one of the above functions.

To log in:

1. Go to the library catalog screen.  The URL is http://mountainside.sirsi.net/rooms/portal/page/Sirsi_HOME
   
   (The login boxes and button are in the top-right corner of the screen).
    
2. In the 1st box, enter your library card number, all 14 digits, no spaces or dashes.
    
3. In the 2nd box, enter your PIN.

Your PIN should have been given to you at your time of registration. 

If you do not know your PIN, try the default PIN of    changeme    (all one word).  This will work on accounts established prior to August 2007
as long as the PIN was not changed in the interim.

If     changeme    does not work, please call the library during open hours at 908-233-0115 and speak with a staff member.  You may also send an e-mail to info@mountainsidelibrary.org requesting PIN information.  Use the subject heading  PIN help.  Be sure to include your complete name, library card number and current phone number in the body of your message.  
 

   4.   Click "Login" to start your personalized session.  Remember to click "Logout" when you're done.
