Brown Bag Movies -- our Monday film series...
...will resume on Monday, April 14th. Join us at 12 noon in the meeting room. Bring your
lunch and we'll provide the drinks and desserts. Introductions and
commentary will be provided by George Fabian, a Mountainside resident and film
aficionado.
The theme of the season is ... Musicals from the Forties.

Story about catty wives who accompany their big band husbands on road trips.

April 28: Stormy Weather (1943) Bill "Bojangles"
Robinson, Lena Horne, Fats Waller. Robinson relives his dance career
and his rise to the top.

May 5: Good News (1947)
Peter Lawford, June Allison, Mel Torme, Joan McCracken. Bright, good
natured college-set musical. The songs don't come much better: "The
Best Things in Life are Free", "Varsity Drag", Pass that Peace Pipe" and
more.

May 12: Cabin in the Sky (1943).
Ethel Waters, Lena Horne, Duke Ellington. In this diverting fantasy, Lucifer
and an angel fight for the sould of a ne'er do well gambler.

May 19: Girl Crazy (1943).
Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, June Allison, Tommy Dorsey. A young man
is sent to a small southwestern college to forget girls but since this is a
boy-meets-girl story, you can imagine what happens!
